About GSLMBF

Organization
The greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival is a Missouri Not-for-Profit Corporation and is a sanctioned activity by the Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, and Tennessee State High School Activities' Association.

Mission
The mission of the Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival is to provide a professional level showcase for high school marching bands.  In addition, the festival promotes musical arts and education within the community, thereby providing opportunities to enrich the quality of life for all.

Format
Bands are divided by number of players in the brass, woodwind, and percussion sections.  There are four divisions based on the size of the band: Blue, Red, Silver, and Gold.  The Blue Division is for smaller bands and the Gold Division for the largest bands.  48 bands participate in the festival and are judged by nationally recognized band directors from high schools, college, and university band departments and from drum and bugle corps staffs.
